Good Friday | Easter Weekend

This year at CityWest Church we are dedicating the whole Easter weekend to the remembrance and worship of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.  In a time where everything seems so unstable and unsure, Jesus shines as the most faithful and solid expression of God’s love for us.  His humble death on a wretched cross and His miraculous resurrection all point to a plan of salvation that has changed the world as we know it.

Good Friday – Please join us at 1pm for a confronting, disturbing and unforgettable look into the details of the crucifixion.  You will hear the horrors of what Jesus had to endure for us as the penalty of sin devastated His earthly body.  A death so shocking that Roman citizens of that era were asked to not even speak of the cross because it was too disgraceful for decent people to hear.  Discover the significance of Jesus’ death and why it had to happen this way.

Easter Saturday – During the day (11am – 3pm) we are joining the other churches in Melton at Hannah Watts Park for a Family Fun Day.  It will include a free BBQ, kids games and crafts, face painting etc.  It will be a great opportunity to express the love and joy of Jesus to our town.

Easter Saturday Movie Night – At 7pm we will gather at church for a screening of “The Passion of the Christ”, the movie that changed the way see Jesus’ sacrifice.  A vivid look into His suffering and passion for mankind.

Easter Sunday- RESURRECTION CELEBRATION – No Easter weekend would be complete without the celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection.  Join us at 9am for a group breakfast, followed at 11am by a Celebration Service which will highlight the importance of the Resurrection and how it affects us today.
