Kidz Bizz Update
Well, we made it through the sleepover, or should we say “awake over”. The kids were on their best behaviour making it much easier for the adults to cope. There was lots of laughter, fun and food. The adults had a ball and we hope that all of the kids did too.
It’s now time to plan the second half of 2009’s Kids Bizz. We have lots of fun activities in store. Due to the increase in the number of children attending, we need to raise the Kidz Bizz cost to $3.00 per child. This helps to cover the cost of food and craft activities. Kidz Bizz times will remain the same; beginning at 5pm and finishing at 7pm.

Saturday 11th July. CRAZY HAIR DAY.
Green day was so much fun that we have to do something CRAZY again. So we have decided CRAZY HAIR DAY. Go nuts. Colours, decorations, ribbons, crimping, curling, frizzing, whatever you can think of. Let your imagination go wild and come and enjoy the fun. This would be a great time to invite a friend.
Saturday 8th August. BOY/GIRL DAY.
This month we are going to separate the boys and girls for the evening and have group discussions. We will sit down and discuss issues that children in these age groups face on a daily basis. eg. Bullying, low self esteem, not fitting in and friendships. On this day we would like all of the boys to wear a “blue” t-shirt and the girls to wear a “pink” t-shirt. Encourage the kids to come along and feel free to join in the discussion.
Saturday 5th September. FATHERS DAY.
Time for the Dad’s to enjoy some special attention. Fathers Day. This month the kids will be making a surprise gift for their dad. We can’t give away too many details just yet but this Kidz Bizz will be great fun. Kidz Bizz this month will be $5.00.
Saturday 10th October. SPORTS DAY.
As we know, kids love their sports, so we have decided to dedicate a whole Kidz Bizz to sports. Football, soccer, skipping, running races and lots more. We will need some parent volunteers for this day, as we hope to have a few groups running at a time, so if you can spare an evening, we would love you to join us. Look out for more details in the October CityWest newsletter.
Saturday 14th November. ICE SKATING – WONDERLAND PARK, DOCKLANDS.
We are going to be brave this month and take the kids on an excursion. Ice skating. The skating session will start at 4pm and finish at 5.30pm. Prices and transportation options will be given in the coming weeks to give you plenty of time to prepare. Stay tuned.
Saturday 5th December. KIDZ BIZZ CHRISTMAS CONCERT.
Kidz Bizz leaders would like to announce its first annual Christmas concert and hope to have the hall packed with families and friends as our children perform. Tickets will be sold for this event. The cost will be $2.00 per person with children under four for free. We ask that in keeping with CityWest tradition, that each family brings a plate to be shared after the concert. The concert will be scheduled to start at 7pm sharp and the children will have a chance for rehearsal from 5pm to 7pm. (normal Kidz Bizz time) Any parents with a creative streak and plenty of patience are encouraged to see Cazz, as help would be greatly appreciated. More news as the months go by.
We also thought that it would be fun to take part in this years Djerriwarrh Festival. We could have our own CityWest Kidz Bizz float, or walk in the parade. We would like some parent feedback for this as it will involve plenty of volunteers and take a long time to organise. We hope that with your help, we can promote CityWest Church and Kidz Bizz at the festival this year.
Well, that sounds like a busy few months for all of us. We hope that all of the children have half as much fun as the adults do!!!
