Thanks for stopping by our website and taking the time to find out more about CityWest Church. I hope that you get to see the heart-beat of who we are and enjoy the many sections that are designed to help you and inform you.

CityWest Church launched in November 2001 but it feels much longer because we’ve seen and experienced so much in that time. We’ve had some amazing things happen and we cannot help but recognise God in all of it. The joy that we feel flows from our relationship with Jesus Christ and His indescribable love for us. You see, we have a deep conviction that church is meant to be enjoyed, not endured!

Something you need to know about us – we can’t stand religion! As a matter of fact Jesus felt the same way. I’m talking about the religion that man has twisted and made into something so far from God’s intended design. The type of religion that is more concerned about politics and self-promotion than leading people to Jesus and following His lead. That is the type of religion that the world mocks and ridicules because it is puffed up and looks down on others. I know, it makes me sick too!

Ask anyone outside of the church and they would agree that churches have become stale, irrelevant, exclusive, judgemental and hypocritical. It is this mindset that we are working hard to change and show once again that church is still God’s plan to make a positive, lasting difference in the local culture and in every part of the world. I am pleased to say that many churches have realised this and together we are showing that Jesus is extremely relevant to our daily lives and that the Bible is not some historical and ancient book removed from our current day issues, but amazingly still provides clear, solid direction for a life well lived.

I see it as a huge privilege to lead CityWest Church into a great future and the exciting opportunities set before us. Not content with playing church, we have a strong commitment to BE the church and make our community and region a better place. You will see in our “What We Do” section many ways in which we try to achieve this. We are always looking for fresh ways to make a difference in the lives of the people around us and now with our website, to other parts of our world.

So dear friend, though I might not know you personally I have prayed for you that what you read and listen to here will impact your life and bring you closer to Jesus. Honestly, without Him we all miss out on the best of life and live with a cheap imitation of what it can be like. Don’t settle for average, live up to all that God has for you…look no further than JESUS!
