The Reviver Ezine
After many hours of work and after years of dreaming, “The Reviver” e-zine is officially launched today. Rob Cartledge had a deep desire years earlier to publish an on-line magazine (e-zine) that would be a voice of revival and a call to radical holiness to God’s people around the world. After speaking with me about it many months ago this captured my heart and I just needed to be a part of it and joined Rob in seeing this become a reality. Well, here it is, the first edition of “The Reviver” and I must say, we are thrilled with the outcome.
In it you will find articles from Rob, myself and Daniel Lyne about holiness, revival and prayer. Also included are books published through Ministers To the Lord Ministries and other great resources. I am sure that if you subscribe to this free e-zine you will be blessed in a mighty way. We aim to publish the e-zine every 2 months and hope to see it spread across our nation and beyond. I believe the heart and purpose behind this project reflects a current need in our churches and one that seeks to unite hearts with a common heartcry for revival. Simply put, we want to see The Reviver contribute to revive your soul, your church and your nation! (more…)
I Can’t Shake This!
I am haunted by a question. Tormenting me as I try to understand how to make it fit, this is something I just can’t shake. It occupies my mind in a way that leaves me quite disturbed. This question has created a deep need in search for an urgent answer. These are the words that have become too familiar – “IS THIS ALL THERE IS?” C’mon, there’s got to be more than this! This can’t be the extent of God’s power and presence. There has to be so much more than what I am experiencing; so much more for you and I to discover and live. Yeah sure, I know that’s what heaven is for, but I know there is still so much of God we are missing today. (more…)
Ridiculous Revival
Over the past few months I have tried to communicate the urgency and absolute necessity of revival for our churches and nations. Some of the looks that I have received when speaking with people and preaching about it have been confusion, doubt, fear and even a look at me as if I’m nuts for even suggesting it. Some sadly see this whole talk about revival as RIDICULOUS. Ridiculous because it seems too far out for today’s church. Ridiculous because in their opinion God just doesn’t move that way. But what I find ridiculous is how small some people’s god actually is and this is coming from professing Christians! (more…)
How To Listen To A Sermon
In this week’s blog I have some help from two great men of God…one still living and the other fully and totally dead. Whilst reading the Mars Hill Church blog today, Pastor Mark Driscoll posted an amazing snippet from an old article that George Whitefield wrote when he was alive and well. For those who don’t know George Whitefield the short line at the bottom of the blog tells us that, “George Whitefield (1714–1770) was a British Methodist evangelist whose powerful sermons fanned the flames of the First Great Awakening in the American colonies.” He was a revivalist and very passionate about souls and seeing Jesus’ gospel spread across the land. So here is Mark Driscoll’s blog in it’s entirety. Enjoy! (more…)
God Is Up To Something!
You probably know by now that we are fired up to see revival come to our church, town and nation. God has given us a compelling and breathtaking vision of revival and we are praying for it and preparing ourselves for God to follow through with what He started. God’s call to radical holiness, heartfelt repentance and humble worship is hitting us hard and it has never been so sweet. He has confronted our hypocrisy, compromise and worldly living and will continue to break us so that our religiosity and empty expressions of Christianity are replaced with vivid examples of Christlike love and real devotion. But His grace is shining now as He is reaching down with a hope of newness and renewal and those that are listening are being moved like never before. (more…)
